Our Purpose

We are here to save as many horses as possible from a tragic fate in the slaughterhouse. We believe that these wonderful beings deserve a dignified life, and we dedicate our time and resources to achieve this.

  • Pablo Amorín

    Pablo has dedicated more than 20 years of his life to working with horses. Primitivo's project began when a Tibetan Buddhist meditation teacher asked him to rescue some horses destined for the slaughterhouse. That first rescue became the seed that gave life to our beloved Primitivo.

  • Martín Erro

    Meet Martín, co-founder of Santuarios Primitivo. Since he was little, he has had a deep connection with horses, which led him to create Primitivo with his friend Pablo. Martín believes that working with horses is not only a rescue, but a form of well-being and communication.

  • Support for 30 NGOs

    Primitivo is an NGO founded in 2019 in Uruguay, dedicated to rescuing horses destined for death in slaughterhouses. We have saved more than 800 horses, creating a network of 80 sanctuaries thanks to donations and support from the Uruguayan community and the entire world.
